62nd Annual Merry Go Round for The Childhood League in Columbus, Ohio
For the second year Janine Robinson, TRIAD’s vice president of creative services, performed in The Childhood League’s annual Merry Go Round fundraiser presented by American Electric Power. The 2010 theme was And the Beat Goes On … For Kids. For Community, #1 Hits through the Decades! The evening was full of thrills and excitement as it kicked off with Michael Jackson’s Thriller, and included musical numbers such as The Twist, Beat It, Ice Ice Baby and Waiting for the World to Change … just to name a few! The 100 plus women of The Childhood League (and their spouses) put many hours into this variety show every May to entertain guests with the goal of raising nearly 17% of The Childhood League Center’s more than $2 million operating budget.
In addition to dancing the night away Janine co-chaired the Merry Go Round playbill committee. She was able to secure generous donations for paper from The Millcraft Group and printing from SouthPrint. TRIAD provided the layout and design services for the 108 page playbill making the out-of-pocket cost to The Childhood League zero! This allowed every dime of the nearly $10,000 in advertising sales to go straight to the Center’s operating budget needs.
Founded in 1945 by a group of visionary women, The Childhood League Center honors the bright future of every child with special needs and the hopes and dreams of their families. The Center’s staff and The Childhood League members partner with families and the community to ensure the optimal growth and development of nearly 120 children with special needs, ages 12 months to 6 years. Total enrollment in the Center-based program exceeds 150 children and includes typically developing peers in all preschool classrooms. Graduates of the Center transition to kindergarten confident in their abilities and enthusiastic about learning.
