ASA Chicago Showcase in Bid for 2016 Summer Olympic & Paralympic Games

When the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games come to Chicago there will be many projects and ways for contractors and subcontractors to assist. There are 22 official Olympic venues to be constructed or refurbished, plus an Olympic Village complex to be built to house 16,000 Olympians and their support teams.

The City of Chicago entered the competition to host the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games for several reasons. First, the organizing committee knows Chicago can deliver an extraordinary experience for the athletes and spectators, and motivate young people through sports. Secondly, the Chicago Games will promote harmony throughout the world, while igniting the Olympic spirit in the U.S. again. Also, the Games will go a long way in revitalizing Chicago’s urban landscape. …

So why is an ad agency located in Westerville, Ohio, involved? TRIAD writes, designs, produces and manages Construction Connection magazine for The Association of Subcontractors and Affiliates of Chicago. Many ASA Chicago member companies are participating in the process to try to bring the 2016 Olympics to the windy city and TRIAD staff writer Steve Johnston was assigned to job of writing on the bid as the cover story for the Spring 2009 issue.
