Celebrating a Great Teammate
Whenever I am asked to describe one of my favorite video productions, this one always comes to mind. A couple of years ago, I was asked to produce a retirement video highlighting the accomplishments of Team Fishel Teammate John Blair. What made this video so special was the fact that John was celebrating 50 years of service. Yes, you read correctly – FIFTY years of service with Team Fishel. Most employees who reach a 50-year milestone with a company end up spending 20 to 30 of those years behind a desk. Well, not John. Even during his last year of service, he was still climbing in and out of a ditch, digging into the earth with a shovel and showing the 20-something’s how to put in a real day’s work. If I can be in half the shape he’s in by the time I reach age 70, I will be a lucky man.
What also made this video so special was the footage I used during post-production. Because TRIAD has worked with Team Fishel for more than 30 years, we have a large archive of footage dating back to the late 1970s. And John was found in a lot of those tapes. We even brought back ‘Doug Trench’ – an animated character we developed for Team Fishel back in 1982. As you will see, this video was truly a labor of love.
