TriAd Designs Custom Beer Label for “Coolest Dog in Columbus” Contest
Dog owners from across Columbus submitted images of their furry friends for others to vote for in the “Coolest Dog in Columbus” contest. For each vote cast, $1 was donated to the fundraiser. With 10,733 votes, Wyatt was this year’s winner and deemed Coolest Dog in Columbus! In addition to being “Top-Dog”, Wyatt had the opportunity to be featured on the front of a specialty batch of North High Brewing Co. Pale Ale.
TriAd Marketing & Media was asked to design the “Coolest Dog in Columbus” beer label. Eric Brown, Graphic Designer for TriAd, and a beer connoisseur and fan of the brewery was excited to be the artist for this project.
“I may have had a few North High beers while working on it, that always helps,” said Eric. “I wanted to make sure to keep some of North High’s branding in the design for a little bit of brand consistency but past that I just wanted to make sure it looked fun and playful.”
The illustration of Wyatt was skillfully crafted by Eric. He had to incorporate Wyatt’s specific traits that make him the lovable pooch he is while bringing the illustration to life. He also had to include must-have elements such as the surgeon general warning and where the beer was brewed.
The Kiwanis Club of Columbus, and their partners SUNNY 95, Mix 107.9, North High Brewing, and Moms2B, are working together to bring awareness to reducing infant mortality in central Ohio. Money raised through the “Coolest Dog in Columbus” photo contest was donated to the Columbus Kiwanis Foundation which is then distributed to central Ohio non-profit organizations whose mission is to help reduce infant mortality, provide health and human services, and provide educational opportunities to disadvantaged children in Columbus.
Overall, the contest raised $53,227 and the specialty beer was auctioned off at HOEDOWN ON HOOVER a Kiwanis Club of Columbus event to benefit the Columbus Kiwanis Foundation.
