TRIAD Supports Team Joy at the 2009 Komen Columbus Race for the Cure®

Joy Johnston, wife of TRIAD staffer Steve Johnston, is currently battling breast cancer. Two years ago Steve and Joy’s daughters, Allison, Nancy and Ellen decided to form Team Joy to participate in the Komen Columbus Race for the Cure®. Team Joy’s first year brought out 75 friends for the run. Every year the team grows larger with over 100 participants in 2008 and an even larger team expected for 2009. This year’s race is on May 16, 2009 in Downtown Columbus. If you are at this year’s Race, be sure to find Team Joy and say hello!

The Komen Columbus Race for the Cure® began in 1993 with 875 participants and raised $50,000. The Race has grown in the last 16 years with 2,000 volunteers and a record of 40,266 participants in 2008 – raising over $2 million towards local breast cancer screening, treatment, education and research.
