For the past few years, TriAd has had the opportunity to partner with The Development Board of Nationwide Children’s Hospital and design the T-shirts for their Annual Rock ‘N Bowl event. TriAd’s Graphic Artist, Eric Brown, has been the brains behind the design over the years.
Each December, Eric starts brainstorming different elements he wants to illustrate in the T-shirt design. Keeping with the rock ‘n roll and bowling theme, he starts doodling and sketching different ideas until everything comes together. This year Jimi Hendrix was Eric’s inspiration. He then refines his drawing and submits the design to the Rock ‘n Bowl board for approval. Once the design is approved, Eric starts adding colors to the illustration. Inspired by one of Jimi Hendrix popular songs, Purple Haze, purple was sure to be a main color of the design.
Along with creating the T-shirt design for all the participants of Rock ‘N Bowl, Eric also illustrates a different design for the TriAd team of bowlers, better known as team “Scared Splitless.” Going along with the previous theme of universal monsters, this year’s design featured Pennywise from the movie IT, one of Eric’s favorite movies. Eric says he enjoys designing whimsical characters while merging fun and bowling into the T-shirt design.
This year’s Rock ’N Bowl event raised over $65,000 benefitting The Center for Family Safety and Healing at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The work of TCFSH fully addresses all aspects of family violence including child abuse and neglect, teen dating abuse, domestic violence and elder abuse. They offer a continuum of research-based prevention, assessment, intervention and treatment programs for individuals who have experienced family violence.
We are grateful to be involved again this year for this great cause. If you’re in need of custom graphics for apparel, an event, or a different project, we can help! Contact TriAd Marketing & Media today.
